Pittendreigh's Law of Planetary Motion is a humorous theory developed by Maynard Pittendreigh, who published his theory in Sky and Telescope (February, 1996).[1]
"The perception of time passing more quickly has nothing to do with the fact of one's aging process. It's the fault of the Solar System! The Earth is simply moving around the sun faster every year."
Related to Pittendreigh's Law of Planetary Motion is Pittendreigh's Law of Gravity, which states "The reason it gets harder to lift heavy objects as one gets older has nothing to do with a person's aging process. It's the fault of gravity, which is obviously getting stronger each year."
